8 ‘A major focus of everyone appeared to be discussion of the Five Year Plan and the need to reach consensus on the common goals lof the College. The "Climate" Committee hopes that this will ‘be reached through full discussion of the plan. ‘Other concerns raised by students, faculty and support staff. Students would like the opportunity to evaluate studio mi assistants in a manner parallel to faculty evaluations. There is considerable uncertainty about the financial future of the College in light of media reports on educational cutbacks. This factor is creating tension and cnofusion. More information on the situation as it evolves would help to improve the atmosphere. Support staff often feel out of touch with the goals of the institution. We al] would like to find solutions to these problems, many of which may be surfacing now, after the first full year in the new building. The committee feels these problems must be tackled by everyone at the College. It does not want to be seen as generating solutions but as encouraging problem solving at the Divisional level. Suggestions must therefore, come from the Divisional Committees, where students and faculty have an oppor- tunity to discuss the problems and make recommendations. All other College committees, and formal or informa] associations are invited - urged - to consider quick and effective ways to tackle the problems which have been identified. The "Climate" Committee would welcome your written or verbal recommendations. Could you please make your submissions _ before the end of February so they may be considered by. -the Committee early in March. Thank you for your assistance.
