have been more clearly stated. I! would suggest that

in future such important proceedured be handled

by mail inorder so lahat the individual not be sacri-

ficed due to the fact that his or her instructorw was

not informed correctly , did not give a shit, or

perhaps 30¢ is too high a price to pay an inadequate
postal system. Introducing semi-organised proceedures,
which involves the futures of over one hundred individuals,
is to say the least, insensitive, and highly unprofessional «

As an old student of theory and means to political chanae, |
have a few thoughts to share on the /-TACK program recently end-
orsed hy the members of the student executive of this colleae. |
sympathize fully with the intent of the ‘program, ie..* to-create
a new language of art that cannot he coopted to serve the inter-
ests of the status quo, that would free us from the repressive
forces that inhibit the full develonement of a fully creative and
human society. But | suggest the A-TACK program was at best a nre-
mature, and at worst an immature, exnression Of tis Mintent.

The A-TACK program failed to recoanize the power and pervasiv-
ness of the interests of canital. It also failed to recoanize
the SURTLENESS OF THIS POWER- a subtleness which the ordinary
means of revolution cannot overcome. / sunnly of molotov cock-
tails and some bullets could concievably he of use to the renre-
ssed memkers of Solidarity in Poland, hut our nrohlem is one of
a different order. That is why art must he our tool for libera-
tion: only with Art can we match the subtlities of our repression.

However, the develonment of our new language will reauire all the
talent and canabilities that we have. It will require development
of the new lanquage through the lanauace of the old art with a
full understanding of the means, in all their intricacve, by which
we are chained unfree.

The revolution to come will not be a revolution of manifestos:
manifestos are part of the old language which can be frie site tied
