Someone remarked to me that ‘there were probably points. for
coming up with something different" regarding getting a place in
the Concourse Drawing Show. It would be enlightening, n'est-ce
pas, to find out what the criteria was? One also finds a marked
lack of figure work which seems somewhat perplexing given the
forthright emphasis on the figure in numerous drawing classes.

Jean Marie's devotion to swinging his Gombrichian "hobby
horse" has been noticed. Not only basket cases appear to be
thrilled with embryonic acrobatics, or with getting to the womb
with vavoom.

The bacon strips are awry insult to Intelligence, drawing :
out the limits of the drawing definition. Yet | do find the met~
amorphosis (read: rotting) most aesthetic. Perhaps we'll see it
again In a painting show.

There is a vicious rumour that heads have once again been
counted for weekend attendance. Rumour has it that shut down of
this alchemical plant (eg. turning bacon to art) will occur If the
count Is low. Besides reacting tothe disturbing politics of the

Terry Sawatzky appears to building a reputation building «
contraptions, of a most unique nature. You've missed out if you
haven't taken the opportunity to crank both his ''doorbox'' (in the
lounge last week).and his entry for the Drawing Show, the ''Okvor-
icson Generator (the name says it all!). Sylvie Roussel's work
of metal and cloth Is currently on display in the lounge. The
mural im progress is the daring ambition (oodles of points here)
of one George Oliver; we're watching the unfoldng of our sky line
with interest. vay
