bea FLUX CAPACITOR The InFlux project is organic. It’s a creation of words, images and ideas in content and design. On the surface InFlux is a magazine — once a month, 5000 copies throughout Vancouver — about students, art, design and the Institute. But really it’s a project about activity and association. It’s an opportunity by way of collaboration, a group of creators more than a product: InFlux is animate, its ownership is yours. For this project experience isn’t necessary. InFlux has room for all levels of time and skill. Positions are defined by the process: writers provide the stories, editors edit them, illustrators create the images, designers layout the pages, and the production manager organizes the production while the managing editor makes sure that everything gets done. The only variable of success is your input. What are you willing to say, what are you willing to create, what are you ready to do? This is how far InFlux will go. Both cynicism and hype breed apathy. InFlux is not a cause but rather a potential. Its goal is as much to explore content and form as it is to disseminate them. What is an image, an article, a magazine? What can it become?
