4 BADMINTON. | e. , 4 HIS year sees a new activity in the school—badminton. It had | i long been thought that the introduction of something of this nature | oe into the social life of the school would foster a better spirit through a t i) closer acquaintance one with the other. me y/ } Bs 4 f 4 me J. Thus we were delighted by the number of students who voiced their ; a intentions of joining the club. We were fortunate in obtaining three i ca excellent courts at the King George High gymnasium for Thursday eve- : aa nings—three hours each week. : | a on ai Fi } Play began as early in October as possible, with a most satisfactory Mi +) turn-out of twenty-five to start the season. A number of these had never before played, but by pairing an experienced player with a novice it was managed to give helpful hints to these latter, and arouse a great interest in the game. Much credit is due Laura Wilcox and J. W. G. Macdonald in arranging the various sets. Everyone present voted the evening a huge success. Each Thursday night since there has been a good turn-out, with new members joining... Twice a month the students may bring a friend—third and fourth years one night, and first and second years the other. By charging a fee of two dollars for regular members and twenty-five cents an evening for guests, the club has already proved a success and been | a source of entertainment and friendly rivalry. Later, as the club finds P| itself stronger, tournaments with other such organizations should be held. ni; | We hope that more students will become members and join with us in having a good time. i —EULA B.
