it a RR THE PASOVAS ARTS CLUB Wh ASOVAS" is the verbal shortcut to "Pioneer Art Students of the Vancouver Art School," and we particularly wish to speak of this club because of its splendid objective; also for the reason that it is formed of all members of that first-year class who, in 1925, with the director and staff, so worked as to give our school its active beginning. As in every class, not all worked through to graduation, nevertheless, all so combined their efforts in that initial year that the school found itself with roots firmly and deeply planted. This was the class which formulated its:credo thus: We're a cosmopolitan, metropolitan, neapolitan class, An oriental, occidental, accidental mass, And we endeavor, failing never "Cause we're clever, to succeed. Art for art's sake, art for pete's sake, Art for our sake, is our creed! And now that their hopes have been realized, and again they have come together as an organized body, the Pasovas Arts Club is function- ing with the same goal in view—the furtherance of art education. When the club was formed in September of this year the following officers were elected: Beatrice Lennie, president; Bert Quinn, vice-presi- dent; Dorothy Hensman, secretary, and Mary Sutherland, treasurer.
