At The Bay cinema, 935 Denman ‘Dinner With Andre' presents some very important issues which | have lived with closely for as lonq as | can remember: the inherent alienation in society, spurred hy the indoctrination of a living, breathing individual into a lifestvle where livina is taken for granted: where the advocation and subsequent nur- suit of literal, monetary ideals has replaced the essential ingredient of life, which is the state of awareness intrinsic in "being". More important, though, is the fact that this film has instilled a oracticing cynic with hope. Eveninas 7330 6.4: 202 nom. In my original letter | certainly didn't advocate anathy. 1 will agree wholeheartedly that a person should question authority. Frrstiy, though, a persan should question himself (herself). The students at ECCAD are often called apathetic. | don't doubt that there are a few who are. However, it is important to remember that there are people who think the way to improve civilization is to change society, and others who think the best way ‘to make civil- ization better is by changing the individual, so you don't necessarily s€e thetr battles, and still others who think it will takelaceombin- ation of both efforts. Let’s try to understand each other at this school so we can make our own society the best we can. Murray Gudmundson
