Meanwhile, under the logistics of ‘two seperate budgets’, aprox- imately $10,000 was spent on the installation of ‘interlor' windows in the offices of |. Wallace, Art Perry and all of the offices in the block behind Art History. All this so that they can look down on the Printmaking department. At the same time as al} this is happening, the students are los- ing their drawing session and the opening hours of the College have been cut from 2:00 a.m. to midnight on weekends, and we are looking at further cuts, in our studio time. rt ; Administration's argument that there are not enough students frequent- ingithe college on the weekends doesn't hold water either; virtually all of the machinery, necessary for the production of the student's work, is not available on the weekends. Indeed, the entire photography department and Media department are locked on the weekend, denying the students access to the facilities. (these two areas alone constitute a good 302% of the student population). So how can anyone possibly expect a fair evaluationof student attendance when so many students are denied even simple access to their areas? In any case, watch for further developments in this area, because the issue is far from over, and if you have any feelings or information on the subject, let us know at “The Paper'', so we can inform the rest of the students. KKREEKEREKAERERE ERREREAEKRARRER KER ARERR RR EERE WER RR REEEREAREEREREEE CUTBACKS On January 18th | travelled to Prince George to attend the Canadian Federation of Students (CFS) conference as a represent- ative of ECCAD. Colleges and universities from across 8.C. were there to contribute, and ultimately decide on the formation of a new constitution. Varlous issues were discussed and a great deal of debating went-on. As you know, there exists a very real and serfous threat to all educational] Institutions across Canada, some more severely than others. The tip of the Iceberg only as been exposed thus far; we have yet to feel the real pinch. It is for this reason that the CFS may play an important role for us and for other students in the near future. Gordon. Moore, one of the executive representatives for CFS, will be here at the college on Tuesday February 2nd; if you have any questions concerning CFS or other related matters, fee) free to attend this meeting at 5:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. | plan to have a complete report on theconference and some of the issues within the next week or so. == Arnk Harraldson
