Although the work does deal with the human figure, it appears to have no humanist allusions/context, such as fs plain in the works of other plastic/plaster figure sculptors such as Duane Hanson, Edward Kienholz, and George Segal. Preat's work seems nothing short of a wild, grotesque and fetishized product of personal imag- ination. It is disturbing to see this presented in the guise of art, in the public place, and supported by the formalist aesthetic rationale. It demonstrates yet again the ludicrous and inadequate character of formalism as ultimate criteria in art. f - - -_ ee 0002 O- e) = ty Ui Go008C 06 O° ECCAD Film Society Presents: O7 MONTREAL MAIN by Frank Vitale Tuesday, February 16 at 4:30 pm (= Room 260 ©~ FREE ADMISSION ALL WELCOME r@) a \ © © ay STRESS WORKSHOP: ‘Ys there life after Foundation?
