available to offer even minimal protection for the artwork, in the way of insurance. In effect, whatever may happen to the studerts work in the exhibition is the responsibility of the student, even though they have no choice in whether or. not they wish to exhibit. kast year, two paintin gs were stolen fra the Concourse Gallery during the Grad Show, and no insurance monies were available to cover the foss, with only token security allotted to the exhibition. The money which is being used to purchase paint should be used to aquire financial and physical protection for the art works, instead of acting as a method of increasing the Facilities budget. No Funds Available for Student Monitors- Any equipment which needs servicing or attention for the duration of the show, is the responsibility of the individual artist to attend to themselves; often this means that the graduating student must remain at the College for the duration of the exhibition. Monies shoud be made available for student monitors to attend to these needs. As you can see, there seems to be a double standard being set here; the graduating student is required to partake in the Graduation Exhibition on one hand, while being responsible for supporting themselves for an additional month while they are forced to clean and paint the College. At the same time, no protection is afforded their work and no remuneration is given for their labor. oa Ge A 1O03 aoc
