JENNIFER BABCOCK These past few years have brought to light a schism between the Admini- stration and the student body, which I find disturbing. What the Student Society needs is someone to keep in- formed and in turn inform the student body of continuous developments. In this way the students have time to deal with situations before they become a finality. To achieve this end a student newsletter should be distributed on the basis of current need. I feel that the Student Society should play a stronger role in the poli- tics of this school. The Student Society should be organ- izing the college by arming them with knowledge and leadership. The College has grown consid- erably, and certain areas have not kept up, such as studio work space for Photography and Media. As it stands now these students basically work out of their lockers. I feel we all deserve our own work space. Through physical growth and expansion of curriculum the library has been strained to it’s limit. I feel an evaluation should be made in order to upgrade it’s content. A strong leadership by the Stu- dent Society President and organiza- tion of the Student Body can achieve these and other goals. Emily Carr is a college that needs the input of it’s students as it is an ever- changing institution; the evolution of over six hundred artists needs continu- ous feedback in order to keep up with the incredibly diverse needs.
