Representing the art of these artists on a 2D black and white _plane does not do justice to the work, but these a representations communicate an instance o their ideas. As their personal hand communi- cates with their media, so do the ways in which these artists communicate in written language. Coming from a more traditional method of art producing (ie. painting), Abigale Ramsay is chaotically playing with colour and random pat- terning of lines and shape. Ernie Wong has taken a traditional form of ink drawing and applied it to large surfaces of stretched silk, his calm, almost monochromatic forms rolling about on the surface. Creating abstract animation (as in no, there is NO plot or political statement, thank you) is not just left up to the ravers and nightclubbers who want to play film loops of waterstains and rocket ships. Dave Weir and Suez Holland have both produced work that explores the transito- ry areas between form, reality and abstraction. Abstract sound plays an interesting role in their animation as well, so you’ll have to pretend. To really understand what these artists are communicating (or not communicating), take all the images you have seen, the ideas of the twen- tieth century, and add your favorite method of producing art.
