VANCOUVER'S JUBILEE

SPRING CLEAN AT FIFTY AND AN EYE ON THE FUTURE

Vancouver's Golden Jubilee! Here is a Year for Great Doings! It will not be
very long before we see our City transformed by Gala attire, Jubilee festi-
vities, functions, perades, etc., will be almost continuous. There will be
so many visitors to this metropolis that we shell have to call in our Sea
Breezes to provide us “ith an adequate supply of fresh air! It is just at
such a time - when so many strangers suddenly cppeer on the scene - that we
realize fresh opportunities,

In these days of scientific discoveries, of economic, social and political
changes,when it is already problematic enough what our orn next step may be,
to look far into the future does seem a little overpowering! However a
greater Vancouver than the City we know is already being planned for - and -
'To be Abreast of the Times, We must be Ahead of the Times?! Inevitable must
be new bridges, rords, business centres - greater harbour facilities;to keep
pace with or be in enticipation of ~- increased trede and shipping, manufac-
turies, etc, Not to mention pepulation?!

Try to imagine whct this City will leek like fifty years from to-day .. -
