Have a nice day..." By exposing Christie's activities in such a straight forward way, the active existence of the extreme right-wing in Canada becomes impossible to ignore, "He's always defending those people, | thought I'd really fan the flames for him, let him be known for being as fucked up as | think he is." He agrees that its odd that some bands like U2 or the Grapes of Wrath are considered political when they never say what they're singing about specifically, “Somehow its cool to be associated with that stuff but its not cool to be clear. That's one of the funniest things about the world: when things that are not mainstream are tried to be made mainstream. It's Acor as though it's a machine that's got a life of its own and you can count on it to always be that way and leave you feeling that annoyance . That may be one reason why | called my newest album Accidentally Acquired Beliefs, you've got to stop and be kind of suspicious about the way everything is formulated, even about yourself." Sometimes people do it and its just a lecture, when people do it and there's some poetry involved too, it really knocks me out. Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan's done a lot of that I'm left really exhilarated at their effort Joni Mitchell. Liz Phair does an amazing job of that on Exile in Guyville , “he's just a hero in a long line of heroes" Eugene Chadbourne a good example of that largely unknown, a brilliant protest singer songwriter that people ignore, "You don't have to go to Rome, we've got ruins here at home, ruins of our own." @& -Dawn Buie Intermedia Interviews continued from page 20.... required of monitors in the After this year Andrew will media wing.
