Well, here we are enjoying the balmy days of Spring. After the tricks Old Man Winter played, we can oxpect any~ thing, but we hope the Spring is here to stay. Of course,Spring means outdoor sketch ing. The beauties of nature throughthe mind of the Art Student. (Pardon us, dear Seniors, but we really must show off our newly-acquired knowledge. ) The discomforts of this outdoor life are to be rigorously ignored, A mere bug looking for his lunch is as nothing to the industrious Art Student experi- menting with a new line. Anyway, I ex- pect the fresh air will do us good. We have never felt quite the same since we drew those crabs. To those graduating at this time -~- we wish the best of luck. It is with personal interest that we shall watch their progress in the vorld of Art, This is our last rord as the "Baby Class" -- But many of us are already looking forward to another year with you, when we shall have teken one step forward, M. Awmack, lst YEAR, ODE TO FIRST YEAR PLANT FORM 1:15 P.M, Plant form, dear old plant forn, You sweet fresh flower of spring, You've such design. Just too divine, To drow = You're just the thing. 5:00 P.M, Mary Jane, Oh} Mary Jane, | I'd love to hear that bell, It's poor design, Not quite my line, In fact it looks like - Well! 2nd YEAR RAMBLINGS In our ramblincs this year,We Second Years have taken in quite a territory,- in school hours, too. We have visited Second Beach and enjoyed all its de- lightful scope for the imagination, (and also for showing off swimming prowess) parts of Stanley Park, (including Jubi- lee). Jubilee was acting up when we got to the bears' cages, where we were sup- posed to meet Mr, Amess and the rest, He (Jubilee) would stand on his hind paws and reach as high as he could to try to touch the catch on his cage door ~ But try as he would he couldn't quite reach it without falling over backwards which sort of hurt his pride - among other things, Also on that Tuesday af- ternoon, we explored the ships in the harbour and now and then we drew some of them but only when the mood took us, for artists have the advantage over oth er people of being very temperamental - and we took advantage of that. Also in our wanderings, we have ex- plored the realm of cross-stitchery, at least the girls have. The boys did pa- per cut-outs. The young lady pictured who is working so hard might be any one of us, except that we don't work very hard. Next year we will be over in the other school, so those ramblings up and down stairs will be delightfully put to a stop and we will not ramble any more but will have a permanent abode among the rafters, So good-bye again - ond Yeor, R8,F.T.P.
