Y they all read: Somewhere, Somehow, Somewhen, and Somewhy we are getting diddled, and we're not going to take it anymore: They are great for starting old style revolutions - the molotov cocktails kind- but as Herbert Marcuse has written, and George Orwell has demonstrated in his little novel Animal Farm, the continuum of repression cannot be broken with such methods. The A-TACK program was, after all the fluff blown away, nothing more than a manifesto. Without the little TYPEWRITTEN (Gawd!) explanation A-TACKed to the wall the A-TACK art was essentially meaningless. There was nothing that could be considered to be the kernel of a new language for Art. The A-TACK program was a knee-jerk reaction - brainless, forceless, a molotov with no punch. In summary, and with the risk of repeating myself, the ach- ievement of a new order, or rather, a new hum-nity, is going to take a lot of time, sweat and intellect. Implicit in the idea of developing a new language is the development of a new communica* tion. To auote Marcuse at his dumbest, but most essential, ''the student movement is not a revolutionary force, perhaps not even an avant-quard, so long as there are no masses capable and willing to follow.'' Any program with the intent of A-TACK must be able to take its new lanquage outside the College, for a new communication; the development of the new language must be simultaneous within and without the College. We cannot isolate ourselves, to fight for our own little island if creativity and humanity, and hope that our quest will be successfull. John R.
