give him one dollar. I said What? He said yes, one dollar. I said
well, why isn’t there a sign to tell you you have to pay one dollar.
He said if you don’t want to pay why did you get on. Other people
in the small boat looked nervous. I said well how could I know it
was one dollar if there is no sign. There really was no sign. So he
said to me this boat isn’t free. Then I said how would I know; I am)
from out of town. I guess I was kind of excited, because I’mnot re- Ry
ally from out of town. But he was yelling and mean, and all the BS
other people were looking at their shoes. Then no one said any- BS
thing. When the boat got to the other side I got up and said do you Pad
have change for fifty dollars. The man looked at me. He said no,
no change. Then he’said: It’s OK, never mind. So I got off and
went to buy an icecream. I paid with my last two dollar bill. Then I
went home.
