The ECIAD Students’ Union would like to thank
all of the staff, faculty, administration, and
especially students who helped to make the
January 25 day of strike and action a success.
The atmosphere of the demonstration was far
from confrontational but overwhelmingly sup-
portive. The administration, in closing the
school during the hours that the picket line was
in effect, demonstrated their support for the
strike. This was a fortuitous move since obvi-
ously, the cuts will affect the entire Emily Carr
community seeing as this school is one of the
most highly subsidized institutions per capita in
-BC. We hope now that the federal government
will be as supportive in the budget this Febru-

ary.
