Kate Hemenway — Commoner Free money available an editorial comment of Y X press Anyone out there who needs quick cash? No doubt quite a few of you are being hit by the spring crunch. Here are a few tips to help you get through hard times. Petition the student council to close the Helen Pitt Gallery. It’s going to close anyway, and it must be worth at least fifteen bucks to each student. Besides, your work is as good as those who are currently showing, and shutting down the Pitt would be a great way to get back at some of the turkeys who were accepted. If you’re graduating this year, you are a candidate for the Helen Pitt Graduate Awards. A financial arrange- ment with the right people, offering them the rights to 50% of the take, might find you a couple of hundred big ones even if you don’t win the awards. Finally, selling yourself at the Air Canada strip really isn’t all that distasteful. Most people sell one part or another of their selves at some point in their lives. With a little luck you could eventually land a Canada Council grant to help you describe your experience, and compen- sate you for /oss of self esteem. “a aN mm i 5 : Wey student conc i in session Youth employment program 1979 The Ministry of Labour is offering again funds to assist the College in hiring students for the period May 1st to August 31st, 1979. Also, since at least ten Social Credit members are former used car salesmen, Ed Sel believes that the institution’s proposed name was the M.L.A.’s Car College of Art. What is art?
