NO TOADS WAITING

Mary Goldfinch never expected to find a
toad waiting on her doorstep when she came
home from the super market yesterday. So it
came as no surprise to her when she found
that there was, in fact, no toad waiting.

“I probably wouldn’t have recognized
it even if it had been there,”’ she said in an
interview, ‘“‘the last toad I saw was three
years ago.”

A quick search of the field behind the
house by an ‘X’ reporter revealed that there
were no toads there either.
