Films will be screened in either Room 260 or Room 328 at 7 PM every Friday night absolutely FREE of charge for ECIAD students. Although the schedule of films is yet to be determined, students can check the SU message board outside the SU office for updates. Concerns and inquiries about movie night can be directed to Jen Van de Pol of the Student Union Executive. Office Hours The Student Union Executive has established regular office hours for the students to consult their Student Union Representatives. The Student Union Office door will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:15 to 1:15 for students to voice any concerns they have. As always students are encouraged to attend the week- ly Student Union meetings held on Thursday afternoons. S.U. Social Constituencies Two years ago the Student Union Executive held a referendum to amalgamate the various Social Constituency positions (gay. les- bian and bisexual, women’s, etc) into one position. Because of the increased responsibilities the new Social Constituency Representative would have to undertake, part of Resolution 1 of the referendum included a monthly honorarium of $100 for that Representative. The student body passed the referendum and funds were set aside for this purpose. Last year the Social Constituency Representative received an honorarium for at least one month, the total amount received is unknown. Apparently the referendum was never filed and as a result, there is some debate among this years’ Executive as to its’ legality. Currently the Female Social Constituency Representative, Janet Noade, is not receiving an honorarium for her work although she understood she would be when she took on the position. The SU Executive is debating whether or not to accept the unfiled refer- endum or to hold another one to confirm or remove the honorar- ium part of the resolution. Out and In The proposal for Out and In the annual Queer Show in the Concourse Gallery was rejected this year for being too vague. Not wanting to completely do away with the tradition, Andrew Luketic, the show’s facilitator, reached a compromise with President Ron Burnett to have the show in the hallways of Emily Carr Institute instead of the Gallery. Out and In will adorn the walls of ECIAD March 31 through April 7 and the deadline for reserving showing space is March 20. A list of displaying spaces for the Out and In show is posted outside the SU Office along with other information pertaining to the show. Additional concerns should be directed to Andrew Luketic. According to Janet Noade, "there is a huge misconception throughout the Institute that the students must to have permis- sion to do things." She has confirmed from the President that any and all white space in the Institute is considered student showing space Student Elections Thére are four positions still vacant in the Student Union Executive. The available positions are Design Representative (Female), Studio Representative (Female), Social Constituency Representative (Male) and Part-Time/Continuing Education Representative (male and Female).
