Seeing a movie on Tuesday night is like trying to read a book at a football game. There was a queue and all these "rap stars" and "true hip hop heads" were in line and | wondered, could they be going to see Gangster #1? As it turned out they were going to see Fast & Furious. As | was walking by the concession stand one guy had his hands in the air, popcorn in one hand and a big drink in the other. As he sang out, "It's a party y'all!" | thought to myself "What the hell is this? A Choclair video? That movie must totally suck." Anyway, on to Gangster #1. | thought this movie was going to be another one of those ok,hip, funny, U.K. gangster films that have been coming out as of late, and guess what? It was! But what sets this movie apart from it's peers is that it transcends the genre by quickly moving from hip and funny to dark and distrubing.
