Interaction Design Essentials blends design
principles with technical skills training.
Emphasizing visual design principles and
user-friendly functionality, the program
prepares graduates to launch or expand
their design careers with a diverse portfolio
of work. Coursework covers topics from
web design to coding to motion graphics
design as students produce both

web- and mobile-based applications.

1 YEAR INTENSIVE
In Communication Design Essentials,
students develop comprehensive design
and technical skills across print and

web environments. Delivered by BCIT and
Emily Carr University of Art + Design,

the program provides students with
knowledge and training that is current and
industry relevant. Graduates are employed
in design studios, marketing and advertising
agencies, as well as running their own

design companies.
START DATES:
October 2015

TIME COMMITMENT:
9 evenings + 4 Saturdays per month
