Michael Agrios $10,000.00 Sherann Johnson and Sandi North All full-time students at ECCAD should be watching their mail boxes for bursary applications. For the first time ever, a newly organized bursary program totalling $10,000, will be given out to students based on financial need as well as satisfactory grades. The bursary was formed through interest from the “Gift Matching Program”, run by the Vancouver Foundation. The Vancouver Foundation (established in 1943) is a pri- vate, non-profit foundation that supports youth, education, cultural activities, child welfare, health, social services, recreation & heritage resources. About one year ago the ECCAD College Board voted to participate in the “Gift Matching Program” and with funds that originated from the Ministry of Post-Secondary Educa- tion, contributed a specific amount to the Vancouver Foun- dation, which matched it dollar for dollar. The interest from the program for this year was $10,000. The College Board instructed that this money be used towards student assist- ance and it was decided to establish a bursary fund to help needy students. The Bursary Committee will be struck soon and deciding this spring which students to help: So if your wallet is look- ing thin, make sure you apply.
