> = | — illite t YITKON HO—"Yitty” has been somewhat lost in the mists of obscurity lately, but we hope he has been following up the designs we found so interesting. He, too, did some post-grad work at the school. FRANCES GATEWOOD—Fran is teaching pottery to night students, and making and firing pots with Mrs. Wattie, a well-remembered art student, under the name of the Vancraft Potteries. IRENE HOFFFAR—This year she is hard at work in her own studio. We are sorry not to be able to watch her progress as we could last winter, when she was busy, too, in the life room. PHILLIS KIRKPATRICK—Last year was a busy one for Phil, with art classes at Crofton House and a studio to claim her attention. Now she is off for an interesting year on the continent and in England. BEATRICE LENNIE—Bee was south all last winter, meeting heaps of people, doing all the exhibitions and art galleries, but most of all carry- ing off the women's honors in the advanced sculpture class of the Cali- fornia School of Fine Arts. Home now, working hard at sculpture, as well as teaching private pupils in the charming Kerrisdale studio she has established. VERA WETHERBIE—Vera shares a studio with Irene and is working there until she decides to use the Fyfe-Smith travelling scholarship won by her for post-grad work last term. She also has a prize for portarait work in the Willingdon competition to her credit. MARGARET WILLIAMS—Maw, as she is affectionately remembered by the whole school, spent her winter following graduation in California, and there she, too, won notice by receiving a scholarship from the Chouinard School of Art, Los Angeles. This is particularly interesting to us, as the prize came to her on the merits of work done at V.S.D. A. A. We had a surprise the other day when Maw unexpectedly announced her arrival in town, and her intentions to tackle any job in her line! MARJORIE LYNE—Since winning her diploma Marje has done very well with two wellknown city commercial art firms, but recently has decided to free-lance. Best of luck to her! SE EE ET [32]
