The tree was a screaming hand

Its fingers scraping the night sky

Holding scarlet moons b

That were three sisters having woven the penumbra of space ; ° 8
About them like obsidian scarves Yj, 6
The rumors of the scarlet moths were all fed ag
Dancing in the avenues of violet mist 7 2

Drunk on the solstice
That dripped from the little wings and antennae
Towards celluloid marshes that linger in the yellow

That vanished behind the apparent mirrors

Along the lanes of hyacinths

We stood there in the liquid fold of dream
Before the sentient fog
Which we interpreted with glances

And sailed between the flickering leaves YX Y J
Only to meet a stranger who knew the language of trees SS: WN
And grew quietly deaf aN —
As we lingered in the luminous area
Gathering seashells and pins
Which you were to place in the mouths of insects . *
