PIPBLINIBE , ccscine PROPOSAL TO DEAN'S COMMITTEE: Re-establishment of Open Drawing Session Sirs; Enclosed you will find a petition, in which a number of students have expressed their desire to reinstate the open drawing session in the College. It is the opinion of the student body, that those students not formally enrolled in Drawing classes should be allowed the opper- tunity to upgrade their drawing skills. The previous open drawing sessions in the College provided this oppertunity and we feel that an important educational tool has been denied us, through the discontinuation of these sessions. Therefore, it is our proposal that these sessions be reinstated. Surely an additional $30.00 per week can be procured from among the annual $4,000,000.00 budget. ECCAD STUDENT SOCIETY FACULTY EVALUATION & EMPLOYMENT REVIEW COMMITTEE: Having recently participated. in the annual FEERC meetings (see above), | feel it necessary to inform the students of this const- itutional process, without violating the confidentiality of the hearings. The purpose behind these annual meetings is to achieve an unprec- edented level of excellence in the realm of art education in B.C., and | am happy to say, after participating in my first of such meetings, that everyone concerned in the process exhibited a sin- cere, objective desire to reach a fair decision in every instance. 1 am also happy to report to the students of this College that we are, indeed taken seriously in some aspects of College planning; this being one of the most influential and important to our cont- inuing education. To recap the information that was sent in the mailed notices from the College, the committee was comprised of: two adminis- trators (one was Chairperson), two student representatives, one member of the Faculty Association, the appropriate divisional chairman and two independant representatives from the Vancouver arts community. The students questionaires and subsequent remarks were given a high priority in these meetings, | am happy to say; everyone present at the meetings made a sincere attempt to give full cred- ence to the opinions expressed by the student body. All in all, quite an elightening experience for an aspiring cynic like myself.
