Abstract |
Abstract
The range of Holly Schmidt's Grow (DIY) projects and this publication extend the composition and cross breeding of homespun agency and the acquisition of new skill sets to their creative-recreational-economic-expressive-quotidian potential. Part performance art, part sculpture, part image-making, part social practice and still unnamed forms of emergent processes, the various elements in this contemporary almanac celebrate the independent gestures and communal initiatives even as they underscore our relations with all living entities, whether animal, vegetable or mineral. As Schmidt suggests these pages record the projects but also set out new trajectories for daily practice. |
