Our piece 'Smoke and Mirrors" is a collage of movement and emotion that expresses how we felt during quarantine. It is an intimate, visual dance film about the longing for one’s touch, the inescapable desire to connect with another person when physical touch is not possible. It also expresses the cycle that we lived day to day stuck in our homes and the confusing uncertainty we had to work through physically and emotionally. Although this film is an interpretation of an unpleasant time, we also celebrate the gift of movement that helped us cope and hope of connecting once again.
