The "Kodama Bones" painting submitted was painted in February of 2021. The well worn driftwood in the sunshine but with storms in the background is symbolic of the artists and many other coastal and rural british columbians response to social distancing which was to take to the water, to the forests and away from the city centres, where beauty and peace was rediscovered through nature. Enjoyment of outdoor spaces and sports has skyrocketed as a response to social distancing and so this painting honours that through art.
