In the 1980s, Unitra was an association of enterprises brought together over 30 institutions across Poland. These were mainly production plants, but also research and technology centers. Probably the most famous Warsaw company subordinated to Unitra was Zakłady Radioowe im. Marcin Kasprzak because the radio tape recorders produced there played in almost every Polish home. The popular cassette recorders licensed by Grundig known as the tourist radio Szarotka was one flagship product of ZRK.
