Walz has a long and complicated history in the Japanese camera optics industry where the company was largely a distributor. This 1950s Walz Flash Master is a piece of camera history. Also known as a 'compact flash gun,' it mounts to the top of a camera and connects to the flash terminal located on the camera's shutter. Housed in a portable plastic case, the reflector features an ingenious collapsible design; the fan flash has nine distinct metal blades that open into a complete half-circle. |
