<p>*Disclaimer, Profanity is in the Piece* </p> <p>Producing the BC Quarantine Qapsule gave me not only a sense of community but a place of inspiration—gathering all the talented Asian Canadian’s in our Province, I was privy to the lives of artists who dabbled in illustration, archived video vlogs and music. I realized that over the course of the past 7 years of my life I secretly archived many travel clips and random improvised songs that never had a life of their own that ended up sitting in sub folders within subfolders of dusty old hard drives. I wondered, “When would I ever share these to people?” Even before the Pandemic I was thirsting to sing and dance and create without judgement of my own art, to feel one hundred percent freed from my own insecurities and self doubt of my past, my sexuality, and my cultural identity. Thus, in culmination of this urge to create, digging through old footage, and being spurred by BC Asian Canadian Art in quarantine comes “Shitty Lover” a 2018 improvised 1 minute song about my last break up with footage from a trip taken to get over two broken relationships, and incorporating new animation to represent how I felt.</p> <p>Follow omo.yomo where I hope to continue to tell more authentic stories.</p>
